My friend Peter Mather was 16 year old in 1944 and one of the crew for DC3 flying from Southampton – Madrid – Lisbon and returning direct from Lisbon (Portela Airport) direct to England. He still has a picture of himself in BOAC uniforme. This DC3 IBIS was shot down in 01JUN43 over Biscay Bay by the germans who killed Leslie Howard.
Peter Mather flew the other DC3 (ex PH – ASR) I think. Do you have any pictures of the interior so he could better remember 70 year ago.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Best regards

Luis, I’m sorry but this is the only photograph that I could find of “Ibis”. Thank you for visiting my blog.
