My apologies, Captain Ripplemeyer. I have posted a brief paragraph at https://www.thisdayinaviation.com/30-december-1977/

I will be writing a more complete article. Can you tell me the routes that you and Captain Jones flew on that date? And do you recall the N-number(s) of the aircraft that you flew?

FYI though, Emily and Barb may have been a first for Frontier, but Emily Jones and Lynn Rippelmyer were the first all female flight crew in 1977 for Air Illinois! (With a stewardess, too)

I keep the records if you want to see them, but the 99s should have them too!

Knowing Emily, a dear friend, she would want correct data printed. These ladies may have been the first all-female crew at Frontier. However, there were other all-female crews before that at other airlines. Captain Emily Jones and F/O Lynn Rippelmeyer were the first all-female crew of a US scheduled carrier on Dec. 30, 1977 at Air Illinois in a Twin Otter – featured in a PBS special We’ll Meet Again. In Sept. 1983, Captains Lynn Rippelmeyer and Beverly Himelfarb were an all-female crew on PeoplExpress B-737 Newark to Syracuse. Denise Blankenship at Piedmont was the Captain of an all-female 737 crew even earlier than that, I believe. Accurate information is available from ISA – International Society of Women Airline Pilots.

I was also interested to see how much your blog looks like mine; I use the same WordPress theme 🙂

My blog is called Flying in the Spirit, and it is a mixture of aviation and theology. I intersperse my musings on Christian spirituality with stories of my flying adventures and other articles on aircraft. I fould your blog while researching on the Vought F-8 Crusader for one of my upcoming articles. I will now follow your blog with interest!

Thanks for doing your blog; already I am finding it fascinating! 🙂
