I was particularly happy to see the August 28 post on our friend, Steve Ritchie.

My comment pertains to a caption under one of the photos of his F-4D that indicates it was taken at “Holmstead Air Force Base”. I used to live nearby that base in the 1960’s and it was known then as Homestead Air Force Base.

While I’ve done some online searches that do occasionally use “Holmstead” in the base’s name, I can’t find any connection as to who that might be. If you have any info in that regard, I’d appreciate reading it. Thanks!
