For the last few years, they weren’t able to land on or take off from water due to structural deficiencies. They finally had to be taken out of service, temporarily replaced with C-131s from the boneyard. Eventually the HU-25 Falcon jets took over from the Albatross.

Mr. Olsen, I try to be very diligent in obtaining permission to use photographs and to credit the photographer. If you are referring to the image with three U.S. Air Force Grumman SA-16B Albatross flying boats, I credited this to the United States Air Force. The Department of Defense Visual Information Record Identification Number Identifier is VIRIN: 070312-F-0000R-001.JPG, As such, I believe that the photograph is in the public domain.
