This airplane is similar to the Mustang flown by Mrs. Silver, 26 October 1944. 44-13366, was an often-photographed Mustang. It was flown by 1st Lieutenant Ward H. Douglass, assigned to the 358th Fighter Squadron, 355th Fighter Group, at Station 122, RAF Steeple Morden, England. It carried the identification letters YF K. (LIFE Magazine)
